One of Australia's most beautiful fun runs celebrating 46th anniversary. 8km run/walk from Lorne township uphill through Otway forest ranges, following St George River track back to the ocean, past iconic Lorne Pier to finish at SLSC. Friendly atmosphere for all ages and abilities.

Course Description

The Powercor Lorne Mountain to Surf is one of Australia's most scenic 8km courses, beginning in Lorne township and climbing uphill through the lush Otway forest ranges. The route follows the picturesque St George River track as it winds back down towards the wild Southern Ocean, passing the iconic Lorne Pier and traversing the cliff track before finishing at the Surf Life Saving Club. The course offers a challenging mix of forest trails, river paths, and coastal scenery, making it a memorable experience for runners and walkers of all abilities. The undulating terrain rewards participants with stunning views of Victoria's Great Ocean Road coastline.

Getting There

Drive to Lorne via Winchelsea and Deans Marsh to avoid Great Ocean Road delays. Free parking is available at Lorne Country Club with a complimentary shuttle bus to the main street. Registration opens Thursday 8 January (4-6pm) and Friday 9 January (7-8:30am) at the Surf Life Saving Club. Note: no postal bib option, so in-person registration is required. Aim to arrive early on race morning to collect your number and warm up.

Can I register on race day or do I need to pre-register?

Entries are available online until the event closes. There is no bib mail-out option, so you must register in person on Thursday 8 January (4-6pm) or Friday 9 January (7-8:30am) to collect your race number and timing chip.

What if I can't make it to Lorne on race day?

You can transfer to the Virtual Mountain to Surf run! Your virtual run will still count towards your Mountain Goat tally and you'll receive the collectable event T-shirt by mail. Transfer options are available through the registration system.

What should I expect on the course terrain?
