Course Description
The Eastern Triathlon Series Race 3 takes place at the purpose-built Heffron Park Crit Course in Maroubra, one of Sydney's premier multisport racing venues. The swim leg starts at the Des Renford Leisure Centre's indoor pool, offering controlled conditions regardless of weather. Athletes then transition to the fast, flat criterium circuit for the bike leg, featuring smooth tarmac and technical corners that reward skilled bike handling. The run course loops through the park on well-maintained paths. This accessible urban course is ideal for first-timers while still providing a competitive environment for experienced triathletes chasing age-group podiums and series points.
Getting There
Heffron Park is located on Anzac Parade in Maroubra, easily accessible from Sydney's eastern suburbs. Street parking is available on Anzac Parade and surrounding streets - arrive early as spaces fill quickly on race morning. Public transport options include bus routes along Anzac Parade from the city and Bondi Junction. The venue is located outside the Des Renford Leisure Centre. Plan to arrive by 7:30 AM for registration, with race briefing at 8:30 AM.
Weather & What to Pack
March in Sydney brings early autumn conditions, with temperatures typically ranging from 18-26°C. Expect warm, humid mornings perfect for racing, though occasional cooler changes are possible. The pool swim eliminates weather concerns for that leg. On the bike and run, you'll likely enjoy sunny conditions with moderate humidity. Pack sunscreen and a cap for the run, and ensure you're well-hydrated before the race starts. The 9:00 AM start time means you'll beat the midday heat.

What gear do I need for my first triathlon?

How does the points series work?
