Course Description

The swim starts in the calm waters of the Penrith Regatta Centre lake, with a short, flat course that lets you settle into a rhythm. The bike leg loops around the venue’s wide, paved pathways, offering a fast 20 km ride with minimal elevation change and plenty of open road for overtaking. The run finishes on a scenic park trail that winds past the lake’s shoreline, providing a rewarding 5 km stretch of mixed gravel and asphalt. Spectators line the banks, creating an energetic backdrop for athletes of all ages.

Getting There

Penrith Regatta Centre is off the M4 Western Motorway (take the Penrith exit, then follow signs to the Regatta Centre). Free on‑site parking is available for the first two hours, then $10 per hour. Trains to Penrith Station and a short shuttle bus (free on race day) bring you within a 5‑minute walk of the start line. Arrive at least 45 minutes early to collect your race packet and warm up.

Weather & What to Pack

October is spring in NSW, bringing mild temperatures between 15°C and 22°C with occasional breezes. Expect mostly sunny skies and low humidity, perfect for a sprint triathlon. Dress in a light, breathable wetsuit or swimwear, and bring a light jacket or arm‑warmers for the bike and run sections. Hydration is still important – carry a water bottle on the bike and sip at the transition area.
