The run course follows scenic paths through Runaway Bay, with excellent spectator access and well-marked turnaround points. All distances share the same professional transition area with clear signage and dedicated zones. This is a beginner-friendly course that also challenges experienced triathletes looking to push their pace on a fast, technical circuit.
Quick Facts
Getting There
Gold Coast Performance Centre is located at 1 Sports Drive, Runaway Bay, easily accessible via the M1 Pacific Motorway. Take exit 62 and follow signs to the Sports Super Centre. Ample free parking is available at the venue, though early arrival is recommended as spaces fill quickly on event day. Public transport options include bus routes servicing Runaway Bay Road. Plan to arrive at least 60-90 minutes before your wave start time to allow for registration, transition setup, and pre-race briefing.
Weather & What to Pack
Late February on the Gold Coast typically brings warm, humid summer conditions with average temperatures ranging from 21-28°C. Expect high humidity levels, particularly in the early morning hours when the event begins. The pool swim provides relief from the heat, but sun protection is essential for the bike and run legs. Apply waterproof sunscreen before the swim, wear a hat or visor during the run, and ensure adequate hydration throughout. Early morning starts help avoid peak heat, but temperatures will rise as the event progresses, particularly for later waves and fun run participants.
