Course Description
The Eungella Rainforest Run offers three distinct trails. The 5km Out & Back Sprint is a fast, beginner‑friendly climb and return on a single‑track forest path. The 11km Loop Run starts at Eungella Dam Road, weaving through mixed terrain, occasional wet sections and several modest climbs. The 18km Remote Run is the ultimate challenge – 590 m of cumulative ascent, rolling downhills, punchy ups and two river crossings at the Diggings. All courses are clearly marked with pink tape, signage and caution tape, and runners will enjoy panoramic rainforest canopy, mist‑veiled waterfalls and crisp mountain air throughout.
Getting There
The race start/finish line is at the corner of Eungella Dam Road & Hazelwood Roads, about 6.1 km from the Broken River Information Centre. From the centre, drive toward Eungella Dam on Eungella Dam Road until race signage appears, then park as far left as possible behind the first car you encounter. For detailed transport options and parking fees, visit the official event page.

Weather & What to Pack
July is winter in Australia, and Eungella’s high‑altitude rainforest enjoys mild, crisp conditions. Expect daytime temperatures between 10 °C and 18 °C, with occasional mist and moderate humidity. Sun can break through the canopy, but be prepared for cooler, damp sections. Dress in layered, moisture‑wicking clothing, bring a lightweight waterproof jacket and pack enough water and nutrition for the whole run.
