Course Description

The race begins at the main toilet block on the far end of Black Mountain Peninsula, looping around the park's paved pathways and quiet roads. Runners enjoy sweeping views of Lake Burley Griffin, native bushland and, when the Balloon Festival is on, colourful balloons drifting overhead. The half‑marathon covers just over 21 km with gentle undulations, while the 10 km fun run offers a flatter, family‑friendly circuit. Both courses finish back at the start/finish arena, where timing mats ensure accurate results. The route is well‑marked, mostly on sealed surfaces, making it accessible yet rewarding for all ability levels.
