Course Description

Runners will tackle a certified 5 km loop that winds along the shared pathways surrounding Lake Burley Griffin in Commonwealth Park. The flat, paved road surface offers a fast, scenic route with views of the lake, the city’s iconic bridges and surrounding parklands. The course is AIMS‑certified, ensuring accurate distance measurement for both the solo and relay formats. Starting at 5 pm on Saturday, participants race through the evening and must finish by the 8 am cut‑off on Sunday, making it a true night‑to‑day challenge. Relay teams can split the distance across 2‑10 members, while solo runners can choose the 100 km or 50 km distance, both following the same loop repeatedly.

Getting There

All race activities begin and finish at Commonwealth Park in Canberra’s city centre. The park is accessible by car, with nearby parking options, and is serviced by public transport routes to the Canberra CBD.
