Course Description

The Grange Coastal race starts at the iconic Grange Jetty Reserve, where participants line up beside the historic Marine Apartments overlooking the Gulf St Vincent. The 7 km route follows the well‑maintained beachfront promenade, hugging the shoreline and offering sweeping ocean views. Runners opting for the 14 km add an extra loop that winds through the coastal sand dunes and park pathways, while the half‑marathon extends further inland before returning along the same scenic track. The course is largely flat and a mix of paved paths and compact sand, making it easy on the legs. Spectators can enjoy the sunrise‑lit dunes, and water stations are positioned at key points along the route.

Getting There

The race is held at Grange Jetty Reserve in the suburb of Grange, Adelaide. Parking is available nearby and public transport options include Adelaide Metro bus routes that service the Esplanade. For exact parking locations, costs and bus numbers, please check the official event page. Arrive early to allow time for registration and warm‑up.

Weather & What to Pack

March falls in Australian autumn, bringing mild temperatures to the Adelaide coast. Expect daytime highs around 20‑22 °C and cooler mornings near 12 °C, with occasional breezes off Gulf St Vincent. Light layers, a breathable long‑sleeve shirt and a jacket for early starts are advisable. Stay hydrated, but you’ll likely need less water than in summer heat. The region receives moderate rainfall in autumn, so a compact waterproof may be useful. Sunscreen and a hat are recommended for sunny intervals.
