Hills to Henley takes runners on a picturesque journey through the sealed off‑road trails of Linear Park, following the River Torrens (Karrawirra Parri) from Athelstone Primary School to Bonython Park. The 5km and 10km routes are out‑and‑back loops starting at Bonython Park in the city, while the 21.1km and 30km distances begin at Athelstone Primary School and wind along the park’s tree‑lined paths before finishing at Bonython Park. Runners will enjoy smooth, well‑maintained surfaces, gentle riverbank flats, and occasional gentle climbs, with plenty of shade and water stations. The course showcases Adelaide’s natural beauty and offers a safe, family‑friendly environment for all ability levels.

Getting There

Runners start the 30km and 21.1km races at Athelstone Primary School, while the 10km and 5km events begin at Bonython Park in Adelaide. Pre‑start bus services run from Bonython Park to the longer‑distance start points. For parking, public transport options and exact arrival times, please consult the official event website.

Weather & What to Pack

July is winter in Adelaide, with daytime highs typically ranging from 13 °C to 16 °C and early‑morning lows around 7 °C–9 °C. Expect cool, dry conditions and occasional light rain. Dress in layers—moisture‑wicking base, a warm mid‑layer, and a wind‑proof jacket. A hat and gloves can help during early starts, and stay hydrated despite the cooler temperatures. Consider a light pair of running gloves and a reflective vest if you plan to run early in the morning.
