Event Details
Course Description
Cleland National Park’s South Course delivers a classic Adelaide Hills trail experience. The short course (8‑10 km) follows gentle undulating tracks through towering eucalypts and open grasslands, ideal for newcomers. The medium course (13‑15 km) adds steeper climbs and tighter switchbacks, testing endurance while rewarding runners with panoramic views of the surrounding valleys. The long course (18‑22 km) pushes the limits with sustained ascents, creek crossings, and technical sections that showcase the park’s rugged terrain. A non‑competitive Fun 5km run offers a family‑friendly option, allowing participants of all ages to enjoy the bushland scenery. All routes are well‑marked, feature a single wave start, and provide at least one aid station for hydration and support.
Getting There
Cleland National Park is the race venue. The park’s main entry point serves as the start line, and volunteers will be on hand to guide participants. For parking, public transport options, and detailed arrival information, please refer to the official event website. Check the website for any updates on parking facilities, bus routes, or shuttle services. Arrive early to allow time for bib collection and warm‑up.
Weather & What to Pack
February is Australian summer, and the Adelaide Hills typically experience warm to hot days with temperatures ranging from 20 °C to 35 °C, often under clear skies but with occasional afternoon thunderstorms. Early morning starts help avoid peak heat. Runners should wear lightweight, breathable clothing, a hat and sunscreen, and stay well‑hydrated throughout the race. Morning temperatures are usually milder, but UV levels can be high, so consider sunglasses and a sun‑protective lip balm. Carry enough water or use the aid station, as the heat can intensify on longer courses.
