Course Description

The Alpine Quest course is a single, linear line stretching roughly 450 km through the heart of the Australian Alps. Teams start from a remote launch point and move continuously across mixed terrain – alpine trekking, rugged mountain‑bike trails and long paddling sections on alpine rivers and lakes. Navigation is nonstop, with teams charting their own routes using detailed waterproof maps. A mandatory mid‑camp offers a chance to rest, eat and sleep before pressing on. No private support crews are allowed, so every team carries a satellite phone, live GPS tracker and their own gear, making the race a true test of endurance, skill and teamwork.
