Weather & What to Pack

Late March in Orange brings early autumn conditions with pleasant daytime temperatures typically ranging from 12-24°C. However, Mount Canobolas sits at high altitude (1397m at the summit) where conditions can be significantly cooler and more changeable than in Orange township. Morning temperatures on the mountain can be quite cold, around 5-10°C. Be prepared for potential wind and sudden weather changes at elevation. Wear layers you can remove as you warm up during the climbs, and bring sun protection for exposed ridgeline sections.
