Course Description

Run Huskisson has grown since 2011 into one of Australia's largest coastal running festivals, drawing 7,000+ runners to Jervis Bay each year. All five distances start on Hawke Street and finish at White Sands Park in the seaside village of Huskisson. The 10km, 5km and 2.5km Fun Run stay on road and footpath, while the Half Marathon and Marathon extend the route onto grass sections as well, taking in the town's crystal-clear water views along the way. Five aid stations are spread along the course, offering water, hydration products, coke, lollies and gels at the longer stations. The course is largely flat coastal running, with the Marathon and Half Marathon carrying only modest elevation change. Wheelchairs aren't permitted due to narrow pathways, and prams are welcome only in the 2.5km Fun Run.

Getting There

Huskisson is a coastal village in the Shoalhaven region, about 190km south of Sydney and 200km east of Canberra. Race HQ is at White Sands Park, by Hawke Street. Parking in Huskisson is extremely limited on race day; designated parking areas surround the town, with a complimentary shuttle bus running participants and spectators to and from Race HQ.

Weather & What to Pack

Late October is spring on the NSW South Coast, with Huskisson typically seeing daytime temperatures of around 16-23°C and cool mornings near 12-14°C, especially for the early Half Marathon and Marathon starts. Conditions are usually mild with a moderate chance of on-shore sea breezes off Jervis Bay. The event runs rain, hail or shine, so pack for variable coastal weather and dress in layers you can shed as the day warms up.
