Course Description

The race starts and finishes at McLaren Vale Oval, where participants line up under the shade of native trees. The 5km loop follows quiet country roads that wind past historic cellar doors, olive groves and the iconic Tintara Winery. Runners will experience gentle undulations, well‑maintained pavement and plenty of fresh air. The half marathon consists of four loops, the 10km two loops, and the 5km a single circuit, allowing spectators to cheer from multiple points. Aid stations provide water and fruit, and the finish line is marked by a celebratory backdrop of vineyard rows.

Getting There

From Adelaide, take the Southern Expressway south and follow signs to McLaren Vale (approx. 35 km). Parking is available adjacent to the oval with a small fee. Public buses run from Noarlunga Centre to McLaren Vale on race day; check Adelaide Metro schedules. Arrive at least 30 minutes early to collect your bib and warm up.

Weather & What to Pack

October is spring in South Australia, bringing mild to warm days with average highs around 22 °C and lows near 13 °C. Expect mostly sunny skies, occasional light showers and low humidity. Dress in breathable layers – a short‑sleeve shirt, light jacket for early morning chill, and a hat or sunglasses for sun. Stay hydrated and consider a light electrolyte drink, especially if the day turns warm.
