Weather & What to Pack

September in Queensland brings pleasant spring conditions with average temperatures ranging from 14-24°C. Mornings typically start cool and fresh, perfect for racing, with temperatures warming through the event. Expect mostly sunny conditions with low humidity compared to summer months. The waterfront location may bring refreshing sea breezes during the bike and run legs. Sun protection is essential - apply waterproof sunscreen before the swim. Frequently Asked Questions

What distance should I choose as a first-time triathlete?

The Enticer Triathlon (300m swim / 10km bike / 3km run) is specifically designed for beginners and provides an excellent introduction to multisport racing. If you're comfortable with each discipline individually, the Sprint distance offers a great challenge.

Can I compete as part of a relay team?

Yes, relay team options are available where you can share the three disciplines with teammates. There's also a Mates Wave option which is a mixed age/mixed gender wave if you want to race the full distance alongside friends.

What equipment do I need for transition?

You'll need a bike in good working order, helmet (mandatory), running shoes, race belt for your number, towel, and any nutrition/hydration you require. A wetsuit is optional depending on water temperature. Bring a bike pump and spare tube for safety.

Is this race part of a series?

Yes, this is Round 1 of the Pho3nix Queensland Tri Series for 2026/2027. You can register for the full series or individual races. Competing in multiple rounds often provides series points and potential overall awards.

What are the water conditions like at Pelican Park?

The swim takes place in Bramble Bay off Pelican Park, which typically offers calm, protected waters suitable for all swimming abilities. It's a bay swim rather than ocean, meaning less swell and more predictable conditions.
