Weather & What to Pack

July in Airlie Beach offers near-perfect racing conditions with minimal winter impact in tropical North Queensland. Expect mild, dry weather with average temperatures around 24°C - warm enough for comfortable racing without the summer heat and humidity. Mornings may start around 18-20°C, warming to the mid-20s by midday. The ocean temperature remains pleasant year-round at approximately 23°C, ideal for wetsuit-optional swimming. Light winds are typical, though occasional gusts can affect the bike leg. Pack sunscreen despite the cooler season, and bring layers for pre-race warmth. Hydration remains important even in the milder conditions.
