About This Event

Challenging alpine trail running event in the Alpine National Park featuring ridge running, high plains and route to the summit of Mt Feathertop. Unmarked course with limited checkpoints requiring navigation skills.

Course Description

The Razorback Run offers three challenging alpine trail courses through Victoria's stunning Alpine National Park. The 62km Ultra (3,420m elevation gain) is a graduate-level unmarked route featuring ridge running, high plains, and a summit push to Mt Feathertop, with a single aid station at Diamantina Hut (42km). The 37km Good Loop (1,948m gain) traverses remote unmarked trails with spectacular alpine scenery. The 22km Razorback Ridge course is an out-and-back adventure along the iconic Razorback Track from Diamantina Hut, offering breathtaking views with 834m of elevation. All courses require strong navigation skills using GPX or mapping, as checkpoints are limited and terrain is technical.

Weather & What to Pack

March in Victoria's Alpine National Park brings transitional autumn weather with variable conditions. Expect daytime temperatures between 8-20°C at lower elevations, but significantly colder at higher altitudes (potentially below 5°C). Alpine weather can change rapidly - be prepared for sun, wind, rain, or even snow. Pack multiple layers including a waterproof jacket, gloves, and a beanie. Strong UV exposure at altitude requires sunscreen and a cap. Hydration is critical despite cooler temperatures. Check mountain weather forecasts before race day.
