Event Details
Course Description
The course starts on the Mackay Marina breakwater, winds along the harbour’s flat, paved promenade and loops past the marina village, yacht club and shipyard. With no hills and a sea‑breeze, the route is fast and scenic, offering views of blue waters, tropical foliage and the bustling harbour. The finish line sits at the Marina Village boat ramp, where participants can celebrate with music, refreshments and a post‑race celebration.
Getting There
Enter Mackay via the Bruce Highway, follow signs to the Marina Village on Mulherin Drive. Limited on‑site parking is available; a larger 700‑space park at Mulherin Park is free. We recommend using the complimentary Kinetic shuttle service and arriving at least 30 minutes before your start time.
Weather & What to Pack
June is winter in Queensland. Expect mild daytime highs around 23 °C and cooler evenings near 13 °C, with virtually no rain. Dress in layers – a light long‑sleeve shirt and a breathable jacket are ideal. Bring a water bottle; the cooler temperatures mean you’ll stay hydrated but won’t overheat.
