About This Event
The Mackay Marina Run is a scenic waterfront running event along the beautiful Mackay Marina with multiple distances for all abilities.
Course Description
The BMA Mackay Marina Run showcases Queensland's most scenic waterfront course, set against stunning blue waters and subtropical scenery. The flat, fast route starts at the picturesque Mackay Marina Breakwater near the yacht club and follows the magnificent marina precinct along Mulherin Drive. All distances share the stunning waterfront views, making this course ideal for PB chasers and first-timers alike. The half marathon is particularly popular as a Gold Coast Marathon preparation race, held four weeks prior. The pancake-flat terrain winds past sandy beaches, alongside the blue water river, and through the expanding Marina Village precinct. With tropical conditions, pristine weather, and breathtaking coastal vistas, runners consistently rate this as one of Australia's most beautiful running experiences.

Weather & What to Pack
Early June in Mackay brings pristine tropical conditions with mild temperatures ranging from 15-24°C. Expect clear skies with low humidity compared to summer months, making it ideal running weather. Morning starts mean cooler conditions, though temperatures will rise as the sun climbs. The coastal location provides refreshing sea breezes. Wear lightweight, breathable running gear and apply sunscreen generously - the Queensland sun is strong even in winter. Stay well-hydrated before and during the race. The stable weather patterns make Mackay's early winter perfect for fast times and comfortable racing.
