Course Description

The marathon is built on a 6 km loop that starts on The Strand, right beside the basketball courts in North Ward. Runners will circle the coastline seven times each day, soaking up views of Magnetic Island, the sandy beach and the tropical foreshore. The circuit follows paved roads and footpaths, offering a flat, predictable surface with only gentle undulations. Because the course is looped, you’ll pass the same start‑line and aid points each lap, making it easy to manage pacing, hydration and nutrition. The event runs from 1 May to 3 May, with a separate marathon distance each day, allowing participants to tackle a single marathon or all three for a total of 126.59 km.

Getting There

The race starts at The Strand, next to the basketball courts in North Ward, Townsville. For parking, public transport options and detailed arrival instructions, refer to the official event website. Arriving early will give you time to locate the start area and warm‑up. Check for any temporary road closures and consider using nearby parking lots or the Townsville CBD bus services.
