Course Description

The challenge takes place on a 2.5 km loop around Dennis Park’s Tannum Seagulls football fields. The circuit is predominantly grass with sections of dirt and bitumen, offering a mixed‑terrain feel. Gentle undulations and occasional uneven patches keep participants alert, while the coastal setting provides fresh sea breezes and views of the Boyne River. Aid stations are positioned at the start/finish area, and the loop repeats for the chosen time slot, allowing walkers and runners to gauge their effort and enjoy the festive atmosphere that builds around the park each hour.

Getting There

From Gladstone, follow the Bruce Highway north for ~20 km, then turn right onto Pioneer Drive. Follow signs to Dennis Park on the Tannum Seagulls football fields. Free parking is available on‑site. Arrive at least 30 minutes before the 6 PM start for registration and the mandatory briefing.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I register for the Walking 4 Warriors Endurance Challenge?

Register online via the Walking 4 Warriors website. Choose your time slot (3, 6, 12 or 24 hours) or the Devil’s Mile, pay the $75 entry fee and you’ll receive a confirmation email with your bib and tee details.

What gear do I need on the day of the event?

You must wear your event bib and a comfortable pair of shoes suitable for grass and dirt. Bring a water bottle, sunscreen, a hat, and any personal nutrition. The organisers will provide a shaded aid station with drinks and basic first‑aid.

Can I bring a support crew or family to watch?

Yes – the venue is family‑friendly with a community BBQ, live music and a designated spectator area. Supporters are welcome to cheer from the park perimeter, but they must stay within the event boundaries.

Is there a minimum age for participants?

Participants must be at least 8 years old (with adult supervision) for the 3‑ or 6‑hour options, 13 years for the 12‑hour slot, and 16 years for the 24‑hour challenge. Age exemptions can be requested via email.

What happens if I need to stop during my chosen time slot?

You may take short breaks at the aid station, but the clock continues to run. Plan your rest and nutrition strategically; the event does not allow extended pauses beyond the aid station area.
