About This Event
The 2nd oldest fun run in Australia (after City to Surf). A stunning run around the trails of Lake Wyangan held annually on Good Friday. The event moved to Lake Wyangan in 2003 with a 10km course, and added a 5km Sprint course in 2017.
Course Description
The Griffith Bacchus on the Lake offers a picturesque trail run around Lake Wyangan Recreational Park. The 10km and 5km courses wind through shaded woodland trails and along the lake's scenic shoreline, providing stunning views across the water. The predominantly flat terrain features a mix of compact gravel paths and natural trails, making it accessible for runners of all abilities. Good Friday's autumn conditions create ideal running weather, with the tree-lined sections offering welcome shade. The course showcases the natural beauty of the Riverina region, with birdlife and native vegetation adding to the experience. Both distances finish with a scenic lakeside stretch that encourages a strong finish.
