About This Event

Part of the annual SMC Road Race Series hosted by Sydney Marathon Clinic. Professionally timed road races held monthly from September to May. Participants receive professionally timed results, drinks, snacks, and warm volunteer support. Open to non-members.

Course Description

SMC Road Race 7 takes place at Long Street Park in Smithfield, offering professionally timed road racing across multiple distances. The flat, fast course is ideal for personal bests and is suitable for runners of all abilities. Starting in the early morning to beat the Sydney heat, the race utilises electronic timing systems to ensure accurate results for every participant. The course is entirely on sealed roads with clear kilometre markers throughout. With multiple distance options ranging from 2km for kids through to the challenging 30km ultra distance, there's something for everyone from families to serious marathoners in training. All races finish by 9:30am, making it perfect for those with weekend plans.

Getting There

Long Street Park is located at Long Street, Smithfield NSW 2164, approximately 35km west of Sydney CBD. Free parking is available at the park. By car, take the M4 motorway to Smithfield exit, then follow signs to Long Street. The nearest train station is Smithfield (T5 line), approximately 2km from the venue. Arrive at least 30-45 minutes before your race start time to allow for registration, bib collection, and warm-up. On-the-day registration closes 15 minutes before each race starts.

No, SMC Road Races are open to all runners regardless of club membership. You can enter individual races or purchase multi-race packages for better value.

When does online registration close?

Online registration closes at 6:00 PM on the day before the race. If you already have a bib for the current season, you can register on race day up to 15 minutes before your race start time.

Are timing chips provided?

Yes, all runners receive timing chips and race bibs. The electronic timing system provides official results for all finishers, regardless of ability or speed.

What's included in my entry?

All participants receive professional electronic timing with official results, race bib and timing chip, on-course drinks and hydration, post-race snacks, and support from experienced volunteers throughout the event.

Can I start in the early half marathon wave if I'm fast?

The 6:30 AM half marathon start is strictly for runners expecting to finish slower than 2 hours 15 minutes. Faster runners must start at 7:00 AM. Starting early when you don't qualify will result in disqualification from official placings.
