Course Description
The Pinnacles Classic is a legendary 18km trail run through Brisbane Forest Park (d'Aguillar National Park) surrounding Gold Creek Reservoir. This challenging anti-clockwise course (in even years) takes you over 18 serious hills with 750m of elevation gain, earning them the nickname 'mounds of opportunity'. The pure dirt trails wind through stunning native bushland, testing your endurance and determination at every climb. With a 4-hour cut-off and limited to 200 participants, this is a must-do event for serious trail runners looking to gauge their fitness. The course features one mid-race checkpoint offering water, electrolytes, and nutrition. Not recommended for walkers due to the technical terrain and time limit.

The venue is located at the end of Gold Creek Road, Brookfield, approximately 15km northwest of Brisbane CBD.
Weather & What to Pack
Early March in Queensland typically brings warm, humid conditions with temperatures ranging from 20-28°C. Expect high humidity levels, especially in the morning hours on forest trails. The tree cover provides some shade, but the challenging hills and humidity make hydration critical. You're required to carry at least 750ml of fluids. Wear lightweight, breathable running gear and apply sunscreen for exposed sections. Consider a hat or visor, and be prepared for possible morning showers as March falls within Brisbane's wet season.
