Weather & What to Pack

Early March in Stanthorpe brings pleasant early autumn conditions in Queensland's cool high country. Expect mild temperatures ranging from 13-25°C, significantly cooler than coastal Queensland due to the 800-1200m elevation. Mornings can be crisp and fresh, warming through the day. The region experiences low humidity and clear skies are common, though occasional afternoon showers are possible. Wear light, breathable running gear with sun protection including a hat and sunscreen. The cooler mountain climate is ideal for running, but bring layers for pre-race warmth. Stay well hydrated despite the moderate temperatures, especially on the challenging climbs.
