About This Event
Memory Walk & Jog is Dementia Australia's annual fundraising event bringing communities together to raise awareness and funds for dementia support services. Participants can walk or jog at their own pace, with distances suitable for all fitness levels.
Course Description
The Memory Walk & Jog Cronulla takes place at the picturesque Don Lucas Reserve along the stunning Cronulla coastline. Participants can choose from three distances: a gentle 3km walk perfect for families, a 4.5km walk/jog option for those wanting a moderate challenge, or the 9.5km run with both timed and elite categories. The courses follow flat, accessible paths around the reserve and nearby waterfront areas, offering beautiful views of the bay. The predominantly flat terrain makes this event suitable for all fitness levels, from first-timers to competitive runners aiming for a sub-60 minute finish in the elite category. The scenic coastal setting and community atmosphere create a memorable experience whilst supporting an important cause.

Plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before the 7:30 AM start to collect your race pack and warm up.
Weather & What to Pack
March in Cronulla typically brings pleasant early autumn weather, with morning temperatures ranging from 18-23°C. Expect mild, comfortable conditions with moderate humidity and occasional coastal breezes. The 7:30 AM start means cooler temperatures initially, warming as the sun rises. Wear lightweight, breathable running gear and apply sunscreen as UV levels remain high even in autumn. Bring a hat and sunglasses for sun protection. Stay well-hydrated before and during the event, though conditions are generally ideal for walking and running without extreme heat concerns.
