The race starts at the City Beach Kiosk on Challenger Drive and follows a flat, coastal route that hugs the shoreline. Runners enjoy sweeping ocean vistas, gentle sea breezes and a mix of sand and sealed footpaths, making the 4km and 8km distances fast and scenic. The course is largely traffic‑free, with a few short sections on paved roads near the kiosk. Expect a festive atmosphere, with participants encouraged to dress in Christmas colours, and a post‑race breakfast to celebrate your achievement.

How do I register for the race?
Online registration closes on 5 December 2027 at 06:30 AM. Late registrations for non‑members incur a penalty from the Saturday before the event. Registrations are also available on the morning of the race for those who missed the online cut‑off.
Do I need a bib or timing chip?
All WAMC members must wear their member cloth bib and timing chip on their shoe. Non‑members collect their bib on the morning of the event; a temporary bib can be issued at the registration desk if needed.
What are the entry fees?
Members pay $10 (U18 $10). Non‑members pay $25 (U18 $15). Fees are payable at registration.
Is the race suitable for beginners or families?
Yes – the 4km and 8km distances are short and flat, making them ideal for beginners, families and children. Spot prizes are awarded for the best Christmas‑themed outfits.
