Course Description

The Wonderfalls course starts at Cumberland River Holiday Park and winds through the Otway Ranges behind Lorne. Runners tackle multiple Cumberland River crossings, steep climbs through coastal bushland, and fast‑flowing single‑track forest sections. Six distance options – from a 6 km beginner loop to a 75 km endurance challenge – let you choose the level of adventure you want. Expect a mix of technical terrain, river fords and rewarding scenery that showcases the best of Victoria’s Surf Coast.

Weather & What to Pack

August is winter in Victoria, with typical daytime temperatures ranging from 5 °C to 15 °C and a chance of rain or mist in the Otways. Dress in layers – a moisture‑wicking base, warm mid‑layer and waterproof jacket – and wear sturdy trail shoes with good grip. Carry enough water and consider a lightweight insulated bottle to prevent freezing in colder sections. Check the forecast before race day and be prepared for cool, potentially damp conditions.
