Course Description
The Fun Run starts at the historic Best's Wines cellar doors and follows a gentle, mostly flat route through the surrounding vineyards. Runners will enjoy wide gravel‑road paths framed by vines, historic stone walls and panoramic views of the Macedon Ranges. The course is short and looped, making it easy to navigate and ideal for families, walkers and first‑time racers. With minimal elevation change and well‑marked signage, participants can focus on the festive atmosphere and the aroma of wine country.
Getting There
From Melbourne, take the M79 Calder Freeway north to the Bendigo corridor, then exit onto the Calder Highway (A79) toward Castlemaine. Follow signs to Great Western; the venue is on Bests Rd with ample free parking. The nearest train station is Castlemaine (about 12 km away); a short taxi or rideshare completes the journey. Arrive at least 30 minutes early to collect your bib and enjoy the pre‑run festivities.
