Course Description

The course winds through the heart of the Red Centre, combining unsealed roads, bush tracks and soft‑sand trails. Runners will glide past the towering monolith of Uluru and the striking domes of Kata Tjuta, with only a few gentle inclines and small sand dunes to challenge them. Most of the route is flat, allowing a steady pace, while the vivid red earth and sparse desert flora provide unforgettable scenery. Clear kilometre markers and colour‑coded signage keep you on track, and the finish line sits at the Ayers Rock Resort, where celebrations await.

Getting There

The race is based at the Ayers Rock Resort in Yulara. Most participants fly into Connellan (Ayers Rock) Airport (AYQ) and use the provided shuttle transfers to the resort. Parking and local transport details are supplied by the organisers, so check the official website for the latest information and recommended arrival times.

Weather & What to Pack

July is winter in the Northern Territory. In Yulara daytime highs average around 21 °C while overnight lows drop to about 4 °C. Expect clear skies, low humidity and strong sun in the morning. Dress in layers – a warm jacket for the early start, breathable clothing for the run, and a hat or sunglasses for sun protection. Stay hydrated despite the cooler air, as the desert can be deceptively dry.
