Course Description
Starting at the iconic Darwin Esplanade, the 13km City2Surf course follows a flat, fully‑sealed road that hugs the waterfront, offering uninterrupted views of the harbour, mangroves and the tropical skyline. Runners will pass the bustling Esplanade precinct, cruise past the historic Darwin Wharf, and continue through the vibrant suburbs of Parap and Nightcliff before finishing on the sandy lawns of Mindil Beach Reserve, where a festive finish line awaits. The 4km option starts and ends at Mindil Beach Reserve, providing a shorter but equally scenic loop suitable for walkers and families. The kids’ Macca’s Mile (1.6km) is a fun, safe route designed for the youngest participants, with plenty of cheering spots along the way.
Getting There
The race starts on the Darwin Esplanade and finishes at Mindil Beach Reserve in Darwin. Both the 13km and 4km courses are based on the waterfront route, with the 4km loop beginning and ending at Mindil Beach.
