Course Description

Runners start outside the Southport Yacht Club on the northern edge of Damian Leeding Memorial Park and follow a smooth concrete loop that circles the picturesque Regatta Waters Lake. Each lap measures roughly 3.96 km, extended to about 4.22 km with a short grass section at the start, giving a flat, easy‑going course. Distances of 4km, 8km, 12km and the 21km half‑marathon use the same loop, while the 2km kids dash begins on the southern side of the park opposite the yacht club. Spectacular lake views, minimal elevation change and a supportive community make this a fun, family‑friendly race.

Getting There

The race is hosted at Damian Leeding Memorial Park on Shelley Way in Oxenford, QLD. Parking areas and public‑transport options are provided near the park and the Southport Yacht Club. Arrive early to allow time for registration and bib collection. For exact directions, parking fees and recommended arrival times, please check the official event website.

Weather & What to Pack

March is autumn on the Gold Coast, bringing warm days and milder evenings. Expect daytime highs around 25‑27 °C with humidity in the 60‑70% range and occasional showers as the wet season tapers off. Wear breathable, moisture‑wicking clothing, a light jacket for cooler morning temps, and a hat or visor for sun protection. Stay hydrated and consider a small water bottle, especially for the longer 21km distance.
