Course Description

The Waterfalls course weaves through the lush sub‑tropical forest of Finch Hatton Gorge, starting on fire roads before tackling technical single‑track sections, bubbling streams and natural swimming holes. The 6km Water Sprint is a fast, mostly flat fire‑road loop with small creek crossings. The 12km Araluen Cascades adds a climb to the stunning Araluen Falls, where runners can dip into the plunge pool before looping back. The 18km All the Waterfalls combines both climbs, the iconic "Wheel of Fire" stair‑climb and multiple waterfall crossings, delivering a challenging yet rewarding rainforest experience. One water station and toilets are available at the start/finish loop.

Weather & What to Pack

August is winter in Queensland, but the Pioneer Valley enjoys mild winter conditions. Expect daytime highs around 12‑20 °C with cool evenings, low humidity and occasional light rain. Dress in layered, breathable clothing and bring a waterproof jacket in case of drizzle. Hydration is still important despite cooler temps, so carry enough water and electrolyte snacks for the whole run.
