Course Description

The Ridgy‑Didge courses wind through Hobart’s native forest of open silver‑peppermint, mixing tight single‑track sections with wider fire‑trail runs. Runners enjoy epic mountain views and a finish at the historic 100‑year‑old Ridgeway Dam. The 13 km Enduro route climbs 600 m, with a private‑property stretch on the north‑east corner that’s only accessible on race day (thanks to Tolmans Hill Estate). The 7 km Sport course drops 350 m and is more forgiving, while the Explorer distance offers a shorter, family‑friendly option. Expect varied terrain, stunning scenery and a supportive community at the Event Hub.

Getting There

The race hub is located in Hobart, Tasmania. Bib pick‑up, BBQ and post‑race facilities are all based at the Event Hub. Parking and public‑transport details are not listed on the event page, so please check the official website for the latest information and plan to arrive early to allow time for registration and briefing.

Weather & What to Pack

September in Tasmania is early spring, with daytime temperatures typically ranging from 8 °C to 15 °C and a chance of light rain or mist. Expect cool mornings that warm up under the sun, so layered clothing is essential – a moisture‑wicking base, insulating mid‑layer and a waterproof, breathable jacket. Bring plenty of water and a hat or buff for sun protection, and be prepared for variable conditions on the trail.
