Course Description
Racers line up at the event precinct on Sir Samuel Griffith Drive, Bardon and head into Mt Coot‑tha’s iconic trail network. The 100km loop (105km on the map) tackles 4,618 m of ascent, winding past three historic reservoirs – Gap Creek, Gold Creek and Lake Manchester – with steep climbs, technical single‑track and rewarding ridge views. The 50km option covers two reservoirs and 2,102 m of climb, while the 21km and 10km routes each visit a single reservoir. Checkpoints are fully stocked, the course is 99.9% trail, and live GPS tracking follows the 100km runners.
Getting There
The race precinct is at Sir Samuel Griffith Drive, Bardon. Parking opens at 4:30 AM at the Freers Paddock area and shuttle buses run continuously between the parking area and the start/finish line. Arrive early to secure a spot and check the official website for any public‑transport options or updated parking information.

Weather & What to Pack
July is winter in Brisbane. Average daytime highs are around 22 °C and overnight lows drop to about 10 °C, with very low rainfall. Expect mild sunshine and a chance of a light breeze. Dress in layers – a thermal base, a lightweight fleece or jacket and a waterproof shell if rain is forecast. Carry at least 2 L of water; the cooler temperatures mean you’ll still need regular hydration.

What are the cut‑off times for each distance?
100km – 28 hours (finish by 10:30 AM on Sunday), 50km – 12 hours (finish by 7:00 PM Saturday), 21km – 4 hours (finish by 10:30 AM Sunday), 10km – 3.5 hours (finish by 10:30 AM Sunday).
Is there mandatory gear I must carry?
Yes. All runners must carry at least 2 L of water, a race bib, a fully charged mobile phone, a high‑visibility vest, a head‑lamp (300 lumens min) with spare battery, an emergency whistle, a thermal top, a waterproof jacket, an emergency blanket and a detailed course map on Maps.me. How and when do I collect my race bib?
Bib collection runs from 9 – 16 Jul 2027 at The Trail Co. in Bardon. You must watch the compulsory pre‑race briefing online before picking up your bib. If you haven’t collected a bib by 27 Jun 2027, a personalised bib will not be issued.
What parking and shuttle services are provided?
Parking opens at 4:30 AM at the Freers Paddock (103 Sir Samuel Griffith Dr). Shuttle buses operate continuously between the parking area and the start/finish precinct throughout the event weekend. For any additional transport options, check the official website.
