Course Description

The New Moon Ultra takes place on the exclusive Hold It Flats trail network near Yalboroo. Runners complete a 6.7 km loop that repeats each hour, tackling gentle gradients and varied bushland terrain that shifts from open flats to winding forest sections. The course is open from 8 am through day and night, so participants experience changing light conditions and cooler evening temperatures. The 12‑lap (80.4 km) and 24‑lap (106.8 km) challenges push endurance, while a junior 1‑lap start at 3 pm offers a shorter, fun introduction. Scenic views of the Mackay hinterland and well‑marked tracks keep the race safe and rewarding.
