Course Description
The 4 km course is an out‑and‑back loop starting at the South Maroubra Surf Life Saving Club. Runners head out via the roundabout onto Fitzgerald Avenue, then turn onto Malabar Road, passing the Beauchamp Road roundabout. A newly upgraded shared path winds through a tree‑lined corridor before climbing the locally known ‘Heartbreak Hill’ (Mount Manwaring). After the T‑junction at Broome Street, participants loop back along the same streets, crossing the access road (Bernie Kelly Drive) before returning to Arthur Byrne Reserve for the finish. 8 km participants complete two laps of this scenic route, while wheelchair athletes follow the same path with a dedicated start at 9:30 am.
