Course Description

The race begins at Leichhardt Oval No. 3 on Maliyawul Street, Lilyfield and follows an anti‑clockwise 7 km road loop around the iconic Iron Cove Bay. Runners head through Leichhardt and Rozelle, cross the Iron Cove Bridge, then loop back via Drummoyne, Five Dock and Haberfield before finishing where they started. The course is completely flat, offering scenic waterfront views, a water station at the 4 km mark and public toilets at the start/finish area. Shorter 2 km routes use the same start line and finish at the same point, making it easy for families and beginners.

Getting There

The start line is at Leichhardt Oval No. 3 on Maliyawul Street, Lilyfield. Parking close to the venue is very limited; we recommend parking on the surrounding streets and walking or jogging to the start. Registration opens at 6:45 am, so arrive early. For detailed transport options and any parking fees, visit the official website.

Weather & What to Pack

August in Sydney is winter, with typical daytime highs around 19 °C and overnight lows near 10 °C. Expect cool, dry conditions and low rainfall. Dress in layers – a light jacket or long‑sleeve shirt plus a breathable base – and wear a hat if you’re sensitive to sun. Even in cooler weather, stay hydrated; a small water bottle or the on‑course water station at 4 km will keep you comfortable.
