Course Description

The course starts and finishes at Westleigh Village on Eucalyptus Drive. The 5km route is a single lap of gently rolling streets, while the 10km option adds a second lap, totaling about 120 m of ascent and descent. The Family Dash is a flat 2km loop suitable for all ages. Closed roads provide a safe, traffic‑free environment, and the surrounding bushland offers occasional valley vistas that motivate participants throughout the run.

Getting There

Enter Westleigh via Epping Road and follow signs to Westleigh Village. Free street parking is available on Eucalyptus Drive and adjacent streets. Public transport includes Hornsby Station (train) with a 10‑minute bus ride (routes 597/598) to Westleigh Village. Aim to arrive at least 30 minutes before your chosen start time to collect your bib and warm‑up.

Weather & What to Pack

November is spring in NSW, bringing mild to warm days with average highs of 22‑26 °C and lows around 13‑16 °C. Expect occasional light showers and moderate humidity. Dress in breathable layers – a short‑sleeve top, light jacket for early morning chill, and a hat or visor. Carry a water bottle; aid stations will provide hydration, but a personal bottle helps stay comfortable.

Can I register on the day of the event?

Day‑of registration is limited and not guaranteed. We recommend pre‑registering online to secure your spot and benefit from group discounts.

What is the minimum age for each distance?

Family Dash has no age limit. The 5km races are open to participants aged 7+, and the 10km races require participants to be at least 14 years old.

Are pets allowed on the course?

Dogs are welcome on a leash for the Family Dash, but not for the 5km or 10km runs where the course is closed to traffic for safety.

Will there be water and medical support?

Yes – fully staffed aid stations with water, sports drinks and snacks are positioned at regular intervals. Medical personnel and safety volunteers will be on‑site throughout the course.
