Course Description

The BayRun Festival course loops around the picturesque Iron Cove Bay, offering stunning views of Sydney’s inner-west. Runners will enjoy a flat, road-based route that’s ideal for all abilities, with water stations at the 4km mark and the finish line. The course is not certified but measured using GPS, and it’s open to prams, wheelchairs, and walkers.

Getting There

The start line is located at Leichhardt Oval Number 3, near Le Montage Function Centre on Maliyawul Street, Leichhardt. Limited parking is available nearby, but we recommend arriving early and using public transport or walking to the venue as a warm-up.

Weather & What to Pack

August is winter in Sydney, with average temperatures ranging from around 9°C to 19°C (BOM Observatory Hill climate normal). Expect a cold start with cool, crisp mornings warming into a mild afternoon. Dress in layers you can shed after the start, wear a hat, and take advantage of the water stations on the course — conditions are usually dry, as August is one of Sydney's lowest-rainfall months.
