Course Description

The marathon course is a 4 km loop that winds through the ponds, groves and wide open lawns of Centennial Park’s southwestern precinct. Runners complete a short 2.2 km starter leg followed by ten full loops, totaling 42.2 km. The flat, mixed‑terrain path combines paved walkways and grass tracks, offering gentle elevation changes and plenty of shade. Refreshment stations with water, sports drinks and fruit appear roughly every 2 km, keeping participants hydrated and motivated throughout the race.

Getting There

The event takes place at Centennial Park in Sydney’s eastern suburbs. Free parking is available along Grand Drive inside the park. Registration and the start/finish area are beside the McKay Sportsground near the Robertson Rd gates. Public transport options (train and bus) serve the area, but check the official website for exact routes and recommended arrival times. Arriving early will give you plenty of time to collect your race number and baton.

Weather & What to Pack

What time should I arrive on race day?

Both the solo marathon and relay start at 7:00 AM. Registration (number and baton collection) runs from 6:00 AM to 6:45 AM at the McKay Sportsground. Arriving early ensures you have enough time to collect your gear and warm up.

What are the relay team rules?

Teams may have 2‑4 members and must complete all 11 legs (one 2.2 km leg plus ten 4 km loops). Bring your race number (collected at registration), a timing chip (attached to the baton for relays), and comfortable running shoes. A light jacket for the morning, sunscreen, a hat and a water bottle are recommended. Race belts are permitted.
