Runners will experience the rolling terrain of the Gippsland Plains, with a mix of sealed and trail surfaces providing an authentic regional running experience. The out-and-back format allows participants to see fellow runners and draw motivation from the supportive atmosphere. With June's mild temperatures and stunning rural vistas, this course combines natural beauty with a challenging yet achievable layout suitable for runners targeting personal bests or simply enjoying the journey.
Quick Facts
Getting There
The event is located at Glengarry Football and Netball Club on Cairnbrook Road, Glengarry, approximately 15 minutes south of Traralgon. Parking assistants will be on-site to direct traffic from 7:00 AM on race day. Carpooling is strongly recommended as parking is limited. Do not park on Cairnbrook Road or the Service Road alongside the Primary School. Arrive early to allow time for parking, bib collection (if not picked up Saturday), and warm-up. Aim to arrive at least 45 minutes before your race start time.
Weather & What to Pack
June in the Gippsland region typically brings mild winter conditions with morning temperatures ranging from 4-12°C. Expect cool, crisp conditions at the early marathon start, warming slightly by mid-morning. The area can experience light rain or overcast skies, though sunny winter days are also common. Dress in layers you can shed as you warm up, and consider gloves and a beanie for the start. The cooler temperatures are ideal for distance running, but prepare for potential wind on exposed sections of the trail. Hydration remains important despite the cooler weather.
