Weather & What to Pack

April in Newcastle typically offers pleasant autumn conditions with average temperatures ranging from 15-23°C. Mornings can be cool at the 6:00 AM start, so consider wearing a light layer you can discard. The coastal location means moderate humidity and potential sea breezes, which can be refreshing during the race. Sun protection is essential as daylight strengthens throughout the event. Pack sunscreen, a cap, and sunglasses. The mild temperatures are generally ideal for distance running, but ensure you maintain hydration at all aid stations, particularly if conditions are warmer than expected.
