Course Description
The Max Adventure Race Blue Mountains takes teams of two through the stunning landscape around Glenbrook in the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Blue Mountains. Classic teams tackle 15-25km of mountain biking on fire trails with technical single track sections, 5-10km of trail running through eucalyptus bushland, and 2-4km of kayaking. Novice teams experience a more accessible version with 5-15km of biking, 3-5km of running, and 1-2km of paddling. Navigation skills are essential as teams plot their route between checkpoints using race maps. The challenging terrain rewards teamwork and strategy, with varied elevation changes and natural obstacles creating a true adventure racing experience in one of Australia's most spectacular mountain regions.

Weather & What to Pack
October in the Blue Mountains brings pleasant spring conditions with daytime temperatures typically ranging from 12-22°C. Mornings can be cool, especially in shaded forest sections, whilst midday sun can be warm during physical exertion. The region is known for variable weather and sudden changes, so prepare for both sun and possible showers. Wear moisture-wicking layers you can adjust, apply sunscreen, and bring a cap. The 3-6 hour Classic Course duration means conditions may change throughout your race. Stay well hydrated, especially during biking and running legs.
