Weather & What to Pack

Late February in the Snowy Mountains typically brings mild to warm daytime temperatures ranging from 15-25°C, though mornings can be cool (5-10°C), especially at higher elevations. UV radiation is high in alpine areas, so sun protection is essential. Afternoon thunderstorms are possible during summer months. Early starters should dress in layers for the cool dawn temperatures, whilst later finishers may experience warmer conditions. Carry sunscreen, hat, and ensure adequate hydration throughout. Check the forecast before race day as mountain weather can change rapidly.
