Course Description
The Bravehearts 777 Marathon Canberra leg takes place at Bowen Park in Barton, offering runners a chance to tackle a full marathon, half marathon, or 15km challenge as part of Australia's mightiest marathon series. The course winds through one of Canberra's most accessible parkland settings, with participants completing multiple laps to reach their chosen distance. As the sixth leg of the seven-day, seven-state national tour, this event brings together community runners and elite 777 National Runners who are conquering seven consecutive marathons. The flat, well-maintained park circuit provides excellent conditions for personal bests whilst supporting child protection advocacy. Whether you're running one leg or the full national tour, every kilometre contributes to protecting Australian children.

Weather & What to Pack
Early July in Canberra brings crisp winter conditions with average temperatures ranging from 0-12°C. Expect cold morning starts, potentially with frost, though conditions typically warm slightly by midday. The nation's capital experiences low humidity and clear skies during winter, though occasional showers are possible. Dress in layers you can shed as you warm up, including long sleeves, gloves, and a beanie for the start. The cold, dry air is ideal for distance running once you're moving. Hydration remains important despite cooler temperatures, so don't neglect fluid stations.
