Event Details
Course Description
All courses begin at the historic Trial Bay Gaol and wind along the picturesque South West Rocks foreshore. The marathon follows a largely flat, paved route hugging the coastline, offering sea‑views and a gentle sea breeze. The half marathon shares much of the same scenery with a shorter turnaround. The 10km, 5km and 3km fun runs use looped sections of the beachfront promenade and parkland, making them family‑friendly and easy to navigate. Expect well‑marked paths, four aid stations and a finish line back at the gaol where medals await.
Getting There
The start line is at Trial Bay Gaol, 2 km north of South West Rocks town centre. Free parking is available on the gaol grounds and at the nearby Little Bay car park (pay‑and‑display). Public buses run from Kempsey to South West Rocks; the nearest train station is Kempsey (about 40 km away). Arrive at least 60 minutes before your chosen start time to collect your bib and warm up.

Weather & What to Pack
June is winter in Australia. South West Rocks typically sees a daytime high of around 20 °C and an overnight low of about 12 °C, with low rainfall. Expect cool, crisp conditions and occasional sea breezes. Dress in layers – a moisture‑wicking base, a light jacket, and a hat or gloves for early‑morning starts. Keep a water bottle handy, but you’ll also find self‑serve drink stations along the course.

When does registration open and close?
Online registration opens on 1 July 2026 and closes at midnight on Wednesday 9 June 2027. Early‑bird pricing ends on 31 March 2027.
Where do I pick up my race bib and kit?
Collect your race pack on Saturday 12 June 2027 between 10 am–1 pm or 2 pm–5 pm at the South West Rocks Country Club. No bib pick‑up on race day.
Can I bring a stroller or pet on the course?
Strollers are not permitted due to narrow sections of the route, and pets must be left at home as the event is held within a national park precinct.
What facilities are available on race day?
There are four self‑serve drink stations, a first‑aid tent, portable toilets at the Little Bay precinct, and a secure bag‑drop area at the Trial Bay precinct.
What happens if I need to change my distance?
You may downgrade to a lower distance up to 1 June 2027 via the downgrade form. No refunds are offered, and upgrades are only possible on race day during registration hours.
