Course Description

The Classic course begins at 8 am on Seaworld Drive in Main Beach. Teams of two will navigate a secret route that combines a 5‑7 km run along golden coastal paths, a 10‑12 km mountain‑bike leg on flat gravel and occasional single‑track, and a 3 km kayak paddle across nearby waterways. The terrain is mostly flat and mixed, offering beach views, lush hinterland scenery and open water. Transition zones open at 7 am, giving you time to set up gear and review your map before the start. All fitness levels are welcome; the course is designed to be accessible yet adventurous, with checkpoints that test navigation skills without strict cut‑offs.

Getting There

The race starts at Seaworld Drive in the Main Beach suburb of the Gold Coast. Participants should plan to arrive with enough time to collect their race kit, map and set up at the transition area, which opens at 7 am. Frequently Asked Questions

What are the entry fees and when are the early bird, standard, and late registration rates?

The regular entry fee is $119 per person (or $238 per team of two). Early‑bird entries also cost $119 per person, standard entries are $129 per person, and late entries rise to $145 per person. Fees include kayaking equipment. For exact registration deadlines, see the official website.

I don’t have a teammate – can I still compete?

Yes. You can post your details on the event’s Facebook page or email the organisers, and they will match you with another participant of a similar fitness level. You can also ask friends or colleagues to join.

Is the race suitable for beginners or first‑time adventure racers?

The course is designed to be beginner‑friendly. It is relatively easy and accessible for anyone with a general fitness level, and there are no strict cut‑offs. Navigation is simple, and you’ll receive a map and compass on the morning of the race.

What should I wear on race day?

Choose quick‑dry, breathable clothing such as a quick‑dry t‑shirt or sports bra, quick‑dry shorts or tri‑shorts, and trail shoes that drain water. Bring a packable light jacket for wind or rain, a hat or sunglasses for sun, and moisture‑wicking socks. Avoid cotton as it retains water.
