About This Event

Memory Walk & Jog is Dementia Australia's annual fundraising event bringing communities together to raise awareness and funds for dementia support services. Participants can walk or jog at their own pace, with distances suitable for all fitness levels.

Course Description

Memory Walk & Jog Melbourne takes place at the scenic Albert Park, offering participants three distance options to suit all fitness levels. The 3km Walk provides a gentle, accessible route perfect for families and those new to walking events. The 4.5km Walk/Jog option allows participants to set their own pace through the park's picturesque surrounds, whilst the 10km Timed Run offers a more challenging experience for competitive runners. All courses wind through Albert Park's tree-lined paths and lakeside trails, providing a flat, spectator-friendly route that's ideal for participants of all abilities. The event welcomes fancy dress participants and four-legged friends, creating a supportive, community atmosphere focused on raising awareness for dementia rather than personal bests.

Weather & What to Pack

Mid-May in Melbourne typically brings mild autumn conditions, with morning temperatures ranging from 10-15°C. Expect partly cloudy skies with a chance of light rain, though conditions can be variable. Dress in layers you can remove as you warm up - a light jacket or long-sleeved top is recommended for the start. The lakeside location may be breezy, so consider a windproof outer layer. Whilst temperatures are mild, stay hydrated throughout your walk, jog or run. Sun protection is still advisable as UV levels can be moderate.
