Quick Facts
Getting There
Mt Beauty is located in Victoria's High Country, approximately 350km northeast of Melbourne via the Hume Freeway and Ovens Highway. The race venue at Mount Beauty Secondary College is on Pool Road in the heart of town. Parking is available at the school oval and surrounding streets. No public transport services the area, so driving is essential. Plan to arrive at least 45 minutes before your race start to allow time for registration, warm-up, and parking.
Weather & What to Pack
Mid-May in the Victorian High Country brings crisp autumn conditions with typical temperatures ranging from 5-16°C. Mornings can be quite cold, especially for early starters, with possible frost. Expect clear, sunny days but be prepared for changeable mountain weather. Layer up with a warm-up jacket you can remove, and consider arm sleeves or gloves for the start. The UV index remains moderate, so sunscreen is recommended. Hydration is still important despite the cooler temperatures - carry your own reusable bottle as the event is plastic cup-free.
