Weather & What to Pack
May in Melbourne brings cool autumn conditions, with morning temperatures typically ranging from 8-15°C. Expect crisp, fresh air perfect for distance running, though conditions can be unpredictable with possible showers or wind gusts off Port Phillip Bay. Dress in layers - a long-sleeve running top or light jacket is recommended for the start, with the option to shed layers as you warm up. The cooler conditions are ideal for half marathon pacing, but stay hydrated throughout. Check the forecast the week before and prepare for changeable Melbourne weather.
